Cause of Amelia death undetermined
The state medical examiner’s office is unable to determine a cause of death for the human remains unearthed in April from a shallow grave in Amelia County, a spokesman said yesterday. Advanced decomposition has forced the medical examiner’s office to rule the cause of death as undetermined for the skeletal remains believed to be those of Clent Chavers, according to Steve Murman, a spokesman for the office.

Louisa woman indicted in connection with discovery of body
A Louisa County Grand Jury yesterday indicted Ulisa Mary Chavers on four charges in connection with the discovery of her boyfriend’s body in the bottom of a well in March. She is charged with concealing a body, identity theft, creditcard fraud and possession of a sawed-off rifle. On March 6, authorities found the body of Chavers’ boyfriend, Reginal Cody Bowles, in a well on his property in the Mineral area, where Chavers also lived.

Charges certified in Louisa case
A Louisa County judge yesterday certified to a grand jury three charges against Ulisa Mary Chavers in the discovery of her boyfriend’s body at the bottom of a well last month. Judge Susan L. Whitlock of Louisa Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court certified charges of concealing a body, credit-card fraud and identity theft to the grand jury that is set to meet Monday.

Affidavit unsealed in case of man found in Louisa well
Reginal Cody Bowles had been missing for a long time when two investigators visited his girlfriend Dec. 16 at the couple’s home in Mineral. One told Ulisa Marie Chavers that investigators thought her boyfriend was dead—and that she was covering it up. “So you think I buried him out on this property,“ Chavers replied, according to a police affidavit unsealed in Louisa County Circuit Court this week.

Girlfriend told police and neighbors different stories about missing Louisa man
When people started asking what had become of Reginal Cody Bowles, missing since at least early 2007, his live-in girlfriend gave vastly different explanations, neighbors and Louisa County authorities said yesterday. On Friday, investigators found a body believed to be Bowles at the bottom of a 25-foot-deep well on the couple’s property in the 100 block of Garretts Mill Road in Mineral.

Girlfriend of Louisa man believed dead is arrested
Authorities have arrested the girlfriend of a missing Louisa County man after a body believed to be his was found at the bottom of a well Friday. Ulisa Marie Chavers, 60, was charged early yesterday morning with concealment of a dead body, possession of a sawed-off rifle, identity theft and credit-card fraud, all felonies, said Maj. Donnie Lowe of the Louisa County Sheriff’s Office.
