Dozens of area employers are scheduled to be on hand today for a Spring Job Expo sponsored by the Richmond Times-Dispatch in partnership with Yahoo! HotJobs.

Forty-eight companies plan to participate in a Job Expo today from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Richmond Times-Dispatch’s Hanover County production plant.

The economic turmoil of recent months has transformed the country in many ways. How did we get here? Where is the economy going? What is the long-term impact? Those and other questions will addressed Nov. 18 at the Richmond Times-Dispatch’s 21st Public Square. A panel of experts will discuss the state of the economy, the effect on the region and where we might find ourselves in the next few months. The panel includes:

Three Richmond Times-Dispatch writers have taken on new assignments in our Sports and Food sections. Veteran sportswriter Paul Woody has been named full-time columnist. He replaces columnist Bob Lipper, who has retired. Woody has worked for Richmond Newspapers since December 1979. He began with The Richmond News Leader, covering high school sports. He added the Washington Redskins in the summer of 1980 and has covered college and other professional sports as well.
