Richmond investigates 2nd bank robbery in 2 days
Richmond police are investigating the second bank robbery in as many days in the city. The latest robbery occurred at 3:50 p.m. yesterday at a BB&T branch in the 5700 block of Patterson Avenue. Richmond Government: The Jail Pitch
Conflicts of interest, and the appearance thereof, can be wildly overblown. The contretemps over gubernatorial economic adviser Robert Sledd made that truth painfully clear. Sledd does not serve as secretary of commerce and trade, as Gov. Bob McDonnell originally wanted him to. But suppose the former chairman of Performance Food Group still did. Then suppose the state asked for food-vending proposals for all of the commonwealth’s prison mess halls. Suppose that it received nearly a dozen. Then suppose one of Sledd’s old friends from Performance Food Group came in during the late innings with an entirely new proposal. Suppose the McDonnell administration then returned all the earlier proposals unopened, and accepted the new proposal, even though it was only a “conceptual” pitch with only a few details sketched in.

They are in disbelief,“ Raisin said of Brunson’s family.
TYLER—City Budget: Reduce Costs, Save Money
Local governments across the commonwealth are facing reduced state funding and declining tax revenues. The City of Richmond is no different. With the reduction in tax revenues and the reduction in state funding, our city has the chance to openly address what is important to the citizens of Richmond and determine the best way to deliver core services. We have the opportunity to use the reduction in funding and tax revenue to eliminate wasteful spending from the city government and look for innovative ways to deliver services at a reduced cost.

UPDATE: Light snow possible Tuesday night, Wednesday morning
A storm Tuesday night and Wednesday morning could drop up to 2 inches of snow on the Richmond area, the National Weather Service said. Areas to the south and east could get more. The forecast is difficult, and Richmond could just get rain, said Wayne Albright, a weather service meteorologist. A storm moving east out of the Gulf Coast region should cross the northern Florida-southern Georgia area Tuesday, then turn east-northeast off the coast, the weather service said.
