James Crowley and Harvard professor Henry Louis Gates—and the ensuing comments by President Obama, talk show hosts, television interviews, and a Leonard Pitts commentary—I would offer a “teaching moment” to people of all ethnicities. Why react defensively instead of politely and positively?
