Richmond police yesterday announced the arrest of seven people in eight robberies or attempted robberies this month. Arrested were:

• Kevin Wade Koch, 45, whose address was unavailable, was charged in an attempted robbery in the first block of North Plum Street on June 15.

• Corey Lee Davis, 21, of the 3200 block of Chamberlayne Avenue, was charged in a June 12 robbery in the 2000 block of Lakeview Avenue.

Spikes in street robberies, larcenies and aggravated assaults have fueled a slight increase in major crime so far this year in Richmond. Law-enforcement officials are paying close attention to a 15 percent increase in street robberies.

Virginia Commonwealth University police are investigating four related robberies that occurred early this morning in the vicinity of the school’s Monroe Park Campus—three of which involved students, a university official said in an e-mail alert to the campus. No one was injured by the lone suspect, who reportedly displayed a knife in three of the four holdups.

Two men accused in connection with 11 bank robberies in six states this year—including one in Richmond—were arraigned in federal court yesterday afternoon. Malik Rahmel Dillard, 26, and Sylvester Fred Mullins, 35, each pleaded not guilty to conspiracy and bank robbery charges in a brief appearance before U.S. District Judge Henry E. Hudson.
