A man who robbed, abducted and fatally stabbed a Chinese-restaurant delivery driver has been sentenced to three life terms.

Henrico The Henrico County Health Department is seeking 100 more volunteers for Sunday’s drill to test the county’s plan to dispense emergency medication in response to a bioterrorism event or a disease outbreak. The exercise will take place from 6-7 p.m. at CVS Pharmacy, 9501 Woodman Road. Registration has been extended to Friday. Jennie Barrett Spratley Nicholson was the first woman named to the Wakefield Planning Commission. She worked on Wakefield’s first comprehensive plan. A life member of the Association for the Preservation of Virginia Antiquities, she participated in statewide preservation efforts, including many with Smith’s Fort Plantation and Bacon’s Castle. The Thomas Rolfe APVA branch honored her in 2000 and she was among those accepting plaudits from the Virginia House of Delegates in 2001.

The current owner of Michael Vick’s former house and dogfighting compound in rural Surry County will try a second time to auction off the property next month—with reduced expectations in a horrendous housing market. The five-bedroom house on 15 acres at 1915 Moonlight Road, assessed at $747,000, will be sold to the highest bidder above $590,000, said Kyle Thomas Hause Jr., a Realtor involved in the sale.
