Tickets on sale: Maxwell coming to Richmond Coliseum; Hornsby, GWAR heading to The National
Bruce Hornsby’s appearance with his band, the Noise Makers, originally slated to sell tickets last weekend, will now go on sale tomorrow for his Oct. 3 date at 8 p.m. at The National. Tickets are $35 for reserved-seat balcony and general-admission standing and $50 for reserved-seat orchestra.

On sale: Bruce Hornsby returns to Richmond
Bruce Hornsby will release a new album, “Levitate,“ on Sept. 15, and a few weeks later he’ll return to Richmond to debut some of those tunes. The Williamsburg native will perform at The National at 8 p.m. Oct. 3. Tickets are on sale at 10 a.m. tomorrow for $35 (standing general admission and balcony), $50 (orchestra sections) and $100 for an orchestra seat that includes a meet-and-greet and autograph signing with Hornsby.

Alice Cooper heading to The Nat
The godfather of shock rock, Alice Cooper, will make his first Richmond appearance since 2004 with a Sept. 29 show at The National. Tickets for Cooper’s Theatre of Death tour stop are on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday for $27.50 ($32.50 day of show). Also new to The Nat calendar—and on sale at 10 a.m. today—is the lineup of Senses Fail, August Burns Red, Enter Shakari, A Skylit Drive and The Acacia Strain for an Oct. 9 show.

Social Distortion, the veteran rock band also known as Social D, will make its first Richmond appearance Oct. 20 at 8 p.m. at The National. The current lineup of the band is Mike Ness, Jonny Wickersham, Brent Harding and Adam Willard. Tickets for the show, which also includes TAT and The Strangers, go on sale tomorrow at 10 a.m. for $25.

Tickets on sale: “So You Think You Can Dance”
The Fox TV groove-a-thon known as “So You Think You Can Dance” is hitting the road this fall and stopping at the Richmond Coliseum. The show—featuring finalists Ade Obayomi, Brandon Bryant, Evan Kasprzak, Janette Manrara, Jason Glover, Jeanine Mason, Kayla Radomski, Kupono Aweau, Melissa Sandvig and Randi Evans—comes to town Oct. 17 at 7:30 p.m.

ODU football: Season ticket demand exceeds supply
NORFOLK—Nearly 300 people hoping to get season tickets for Old Dominion University’s return to the gridiron have been turned away because there aren’t enough available seats at Foreman Field. This week, the school notified 296 people who had made down payments that they would not get season tickets. They had ordered a total 1,065 tickets.

Tickets: Seinfeld, Shinedown and Innsbrook
Even if the show is about nothing, it will still be funny coming from Jerry Seinfeld. The comedian, who last performed in Richmond in 2007, is returning to the road this fall and will stop at the Landmark Theater at 7 p.m. Sept. 26. Opening-night tickets for CenterStage on sale now
Tickets for the grand opening performances at Richmond CenterStage are now on sale. The show, Sept. 12 at 8 p.m. in the Carpenter Theatre, will include a performance by each of CenterStage’s nine producing resident companies. Tickets: Paul McCartney coming to FedEx
Paul McCartney has added a D.C.-area date to his growing summer tour. The artist whom “Guinness World Records” lists as the most successful musician and composer in pop music history, will perform at FedEx Field in Landover, Md., at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 1. Tickets have been on sale all week for American Express cardholders, but will be available to the general public at 10 a.m. tomorrow.

Tickets: Journey/Night Ranger coming to coliseum
It will be just like 1980 again when Journey and Night Ranger hit the Richmond Coliseum this fall. The double bill will come to the venue Sept. 15 at 7:30 p.m. Journey, which includes longtime members Neal Schon, Jonathan Cain, Ross Valory and Deen Castronovo, has had great touring success since enlisting former Journey tribute band singer Arnel Pineda as lead singer in 2007.
