Tredegar Corp. earnings  02/13/10 12:01 AM

The Richmond-based plastic films and aluminum extrusions company reported profit of $9.98 million, or 29 cents a share, compared with profit of $6.14 million, or 18 cents a share, in the same period of 2008. Revenue fell 13 percent to $168.6 million from $194.1 million in the same period of 2008. Sales were down in its plastic films and aluminum extrusions businesses.

Gottwald to retire as Tredegar chief  12/01/09 12:01 AM

John D. Gottwald will retire as president and chief executive officer of Richmond-based Tredegar Corp. on Jan. 31, the company announced yesterday. Tredegar, a manufacturer of plastic films and aluminum extrusions, said its board of directors has named Nancy M. Taylor, the company’s executive vice president and president of its largest division, to succeed Gottwald as president and chief executive officer.

Profit at Tredegar Corp. fell slightly in the third quarter as sales continued to decline. The Richmond-based maker of plastic films and aluminum extrusions reported a net profit of $10.99 million, or 32 cents per share, for the quarter, compared with a profit of $11.07 million, or 33 cents per share, in the prior year period. Revenue fell 23 percent to $175.7 million.

First-quarter earnings reports  05/07/09 12:01 AM

Tredegar Corp. reported a loss for the first quarter as sales deteriorated in the economic recession and the company took a goodwill impairment charge. The Richmond-based maker of plastic films and aluminum extrusions reported a loss of $28.8 million, or 85 cents per share, for the first quarter, compared with a profit of $3.1 million or 9 cents per share in the first quarter of 2008.

A group of historians will delve into the life and works of one of America’s most celebrated presidents at a conference next month on Lincoln and the South at the University of Richmond’s Jepson Alumni Center. The March 12-14 conference is presented by the American Civil War Center at Historic Tredegar.
