Two Chesterfield cheerleaders win top honors at national competition
Two Chesterfield County high school cheerleaders were the top two winners at the National Cheerleader of the Year Scholarship Competition held recently in Fayetteville, N.C. Quinn Moorer from James River High School was named National Cheerleader of the Year, and Ryan Hooghkirk from Cosby High School was first runner-up. Moorer earned a $3,000 scholarship to the college of her choice, and Hooghkirk received a $1,500 scholarship. The cheerleader of the year also makes several public appearances and has potential travel opportunities.
