COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Virginia Tech whipped Maryland 5-0 yesterday to complete its first-ever sweep of an ACC team since joining the league before the 2005 season.

Anthony Sosnokie went 3 for 5 with an RBI, and brother Buddy went 1 for 2 with a run for the Hokies, who are on an ACC-best five-game winning streak.

Mathew Price earned his third win of the season after pitching six innings and allowing three hits and four walks. He struck out six.

ATLANTA - Franco Valdes hit the game-tying single in the top of the ninth inning as Virginia finished in a draw with Georgia Tech. The game was called after nine innings because of the ACC's travel policy.

Dan Grovatt had three hits and an RBI for the Cavaliers, and Tyler Cannon scored two runs.

Adam McConnell had three hits and Andrew Lowry scored three runs as Richmond defeated A-10 rival Dayton to snap a 10-game losing streak.

McConnell finished 3 for 4 with a run and an RBI, and Cameron Brown and Ryan Metzroth each drove in a pair of runs.

Eight of Richmond's nine starters had hits as the Spiders hammered out 11.

Joe Van Meter went 3 for 4 with a double and had Virginia Commonwealth's only RBI as the Rams fell to James Madison in CAA play.

Ryan Crosby took the loss after a tough day on the mound, allowing seven runs, five earned, on 10 hits in 31/3 innings.

Trevor Knight went 4 for 5 and pitched six shutout innings for the Dukes, who led 5-0 after the first inning.
