The University of Richmond yesterday received its second men's basketball commitment from a member of the Class of 2010.

Guard Cedric Lindsay, 6-0, attends Gonzaga High School in Washington, D.C. He also was being recruited by Temple, La Salle, William and Mary, Jacksonville, Niagara and Brown, according to Gonzaga coach Steve Turner.

Last night, Lindsay said he chose Richmond because "it was close to home, it was the best fit for me for academics and basketball, and it felt like family there to me."

Lindsay, from Camp Springs, Md., has played both guard spots for Gonzaga, which competes in the Washington area's most competitive league. He averaged 16 points as a junior last season.

"He does a little bit of everything," Turner said of Lindsay. "He plays good defense, and he has the ability to score the ball in multiple ways."
