Basketball players of the week

MEN
CAA: Darren White, rookie, James Madison, scored 20 points and grabbed a team-high nine rebounds in the Dukes' 79-66 win over North Carolina Central.
CAC: Brandon Altmann, Mary Washington, averaged 25.7 points and 7.7 rebounds per game against Delaware State, N.C. Wesleyan and Hampden-Sydney.
USA South: Mike Green, Christopher Newport, had double-doubles against Virginia Wesleyan (22 points, 11 rebounds) and then against Southern Virginia (25 points, 10 rebounds) in the CNU Invitational championship.
WOMEN
CAA: Dawn Evans, James Madison, wins this award for the second consecutive week by averaging 25.5 points and 3.5 assists to lead the Dukes to win at Austin Peay and Western Carolina; Amber Easter, rookie, George Mason, helped the Patriots to two wins by averaging 16.5 points and 12 boards against North Carolina Central and Jacksonville.
CIAA: James Hill, coach, Virginia State, has the Trojans off to a 6-0 start, the best in 20 years.
ODAC: Molly Ariail, Randolph-Macon, hit Virginia Wesleyan for 22 points and 13 rebounds to move the Yellow Jackets to 3-0.
USA South: Alexis Hargbol, Shenandoah, helped the Hornets upset 23rd ranked Mary Washington with a 10-point, 14-rebound performance; Mette Schelman, rookie, Averett, had 20 points and five steals in a win over Piedmont.
