MENCAA: David Schneider, William and Mary, scored a game-high 25 points in the Tribe's surprising 78-71 win over Richmond and had 16 points in a win at Manhattan; Luke Hancock, rookie, George Mason; averaged 8.7 points, 7.3 rebounds and 5.7 assists per game as the Patriots went 1-2 at the Puerto Rico Tip-off including a near upset of then fifth-ranked Villanova and a win over Indiana.
Big South: Artsiom Parakhouski, Radford, went for 23 points and 14 rebounds in a loss to then ninth-ranked Duke and averaged 27 points and 15.5 rebounds last week; Blake Smith, rookie, Radford, had 11 points and six rebounds against the Blue Devils.
USA South: Derek Mitchell, Ferrum, had a 20-20 game (29 points, 20 rebounds) in a win over Elmira at the NYU tournament and also recorded a double-double in a loss to Randolph.
WOMEN
ACC: Simone Egwu, rookie, Virginia, had 10 points and six boards in a loss to then sixth-ranked Tennessee and had 19 points and seven rebounds in a win over South Carolina-Upstate.
CAA: Dawn Evans, co-player, James Madison, averaged 28 points in wins over Georgetown and Virginia Tech; D'Andra Moss, co-player, VCU, exploded for 33 points and 10 rebounds in a 75-68 double-overtime win over Morgan State in the Seton Hall Classic championship.
USA South: Brittney Bullock, Ferrum, averaged 21 points and 7 boards to lead the Panthers to a 2-1 record in the Marymount Marine Corps Tip-Off Tournament.
