UR women stumble
Despite an impressive second-half run, the Richmond women's basketball team fell to Charlotte 62-55 yesterday in an Atlantic-10 game at the Robins Center.
Sophomore Brittani Shells scored a team-high 15 points. Charlotte controlled most of the first half, as guard Shannon McCallum scored 13 points. The 49ers went into the locker room with a 29-23 advantage, marking the first time Richmond has trailed at the break since starting conference play.
A layup by Ashya Jones pushed the Charlotte lead to 33-25 with 16:26 remaining. The Spiders battled back, going on an 11-2 run. Richmond took its first lead, 36-35 off a 3-pointer by freshman Sam Bilney as time expired. Charlotte responded with an 8-0 run of its own, sparked by two consecutive layups by Danielle Burgin.

LYNCHBURG - Kyle Ohman matched his career high with 26 points to lead Liberty tover High Point. Ohman hit five 3-pointers and was 9 of 13 from the field as the Flames won for the fifth time in six games. Nick Barbour scored 21 points for High Point, which has lost six consecutive games.
Ohman keyed Liberty's decisive first-half run with seven points, two assists, two rebounds and a block, helping the Flames increase a 29-27 lead with 7:38 remaining in the first half to a 41-29 advantage with 3:30 left.
