Notable : This is the first meeting between the Hokies (5-4) and Lancers (5-4). . . . Longwood, which is located in Farmville, is in its fifth season playing a Division I schedule and its second season as a full D-I team. The Lancers, who still are an independent, are on pace for their best D-I season. In their first four years, they won one, 10, nine and nine games. This season, they have defeated Division II Virginia-Wise, Gardner-Webb , Maryland-Eastern Shore, Delaware State and James Madison. Their next game after today is Wednesday at Virginia. . . . The Hokies lost 67-66 at Georgia on Tuesday. Allen, a sophomore, got into foul trouble, as he did two games earlier against Wisconsin. He picked up his third foul with 17:04 left in the game and his fourth with 10:26 left. He scored just eight points in 25 minutes. . . . The Hokies' average margin of decision this season is 3.9 points. . . . After today, the Hokies don't play again until Saturday, when they face Columbia in a two-day tournament at Madison Square Garden in New York. The following day, they will play St. John's or Marist. Their final nonconference game is Dec. 29 at Charleston Southern. They open the ACC schedule Jan. 4 at Duke.
