ACC roundup

RALEIGH, N.C. - Russell Wilson threw three touchdowns and ran for another, and N.C. State snapped a four-game losing streak by holding off Maryland 38-31 yesterday in a matchup of the ACC Atlantic Division's worst teams.
Wilson was 25-for-38 for 343 yards and the Wolfpack (1-4, 4-5) made just enough plays to secure their second win against a Bowl Subdivision opponent. The teams combined for 752 total yards.
It was a day of extremes for Wilson, who has thrown 10 touchdowns in three games.
The all-ACC quarterback threaded one early ball past defensive back Anthony Wiseman to Donald Bowens down the right sideline for his second score.
One possession later, Alex Wujciak jumped in front of Wilson's fourth-and-6 attempt and raced down the right sideline for a 70-yard TD.
Then, after leading the Wolfpack deep into Terp territory late in the half, Wilson was picked off in the end zone with 38 seconds left. State had 301 total yards at halftime and led 24-21 at the break.
"Throwing those interceptions, that was a little tough," Wilson said. "You've just got to keep throwing the ball, keep moving on."
Wilson overcame his career-worst three interceptions with touchdown tosses of 17 yards to George Bryan and 18 yard to Darrell Davis. Wilson and Jamelle Eugene each had 2-yard scoring runs.
Torrey Smith returned a kickoff 82 yards for a touchdown, the school-record third of his career. Wujciak returned an interception 70 yards for a score, while Davin Meggett and Chris Turner had 1-yard TD runs for Maryland (1-4, 2-7).
Georgia Tech 30 Wake Forest 27 (OT)
ATLANTA - Josh Nesbitt scored on a 3-yard run in overtime after Georgia Tech pulled off a gutsy play on fourth down, leading the No. 10 Yellow Jackets another step closer to the Atlantic Coast Conference championship game.
After Wake Forest (2-4, 4-6) was held to a field goal on the first possession of OT, Georgia Tech faced fourth-and-less-than-a-yard at the Demon Deacons 5. The Yellow Jackets (6-1, 8-1) initially tried to draw Wake offsides, but were forced to burn a timeout when that didn't work.
Instead of sending on Scott Blair for a chip-shot field goal to tie it, the Yellow Jackets sent the offense back on the field. Nesbitt powered up the middle for a 2-yard gain and scored on the very next play. It was Georgia Tech's first fourth-down conversion of the game after missing on its first four attempts.
North Carolina 19, Duke 6
CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - Ryan Houston ran for a career-high 164 yards and Jheranie Boyd scored the clinching touchdown midway through the fourth quarter to help North Carolina beat Duke.
Charles Brown also came up with an interception late in the third quarter as part of a dominating defensive performance for the Tar Heels (2-3, 6-3), who shut down Thad Lewis and the prolific passing attack that had carried the Blue Devils (3-2, 5-4) to three straight victories.
Duke finished with 125 total yards and had to fight for every one of them. The Tar Heels didn't have much offensive success, but they wore down the Blue Devils behind Houston after starting tailback Shaun Draughn went out with an early shoulder injury.
Houston finished with a career-high 37 carries, including 10 on the clock-draining drive that ended with Boyd's touchdown with 6:57 left.
