William and Mary cruises by Northeastern

BROOKLINE, Mass. -- Jonathan Grimes rushed for two touchdowns and William and Mary ran over Northeastern 34-14 yesterday.
Grimes scored on runs of 55 and 4 yards as the Tribe (2-1 Colonial Athletic Association, 5-1) rushed for four touchdowns in the second half to pull away. Grimes ran for a total of 91 yards.
Northeastern (0-3, 0-6) led 7-6 at halftime on the strength of a 76-yard touchdown pass from Matt Carroll to Tony Lott in the first quarter. Carroll was 16 for 28 for 238 yards and two touchdowns. He also threw two interceptions. Jordan Batts caught six passes for 57 yards, including a 25-yarder for a touchdown for the Huskies.
Northeastern has lost 13 in a row, and has scored more than 17 points only four times during that streak.
S.C. State 37, Norfolk State 10
NORFOLK -- Phillip Adams and Rafael Bush each returned fumble recoveries for touchdowns and South Carolina State beat Norfolk State.
The Bulldogs (2-0 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference, 4-1) built a 27-2 halftime lead after Adams returned a fumble 31 yards for a touchdown and Bush raced 37 yards with a recovered fumble for another touchdown. Also, Blake Erickson kicked three field goals.
The Spartans (1-2, 2-3) managed only 67 yards rushing on 30 carries. Dennis Brown was 16 for 27 for 138 yards passing for the Spartans, including a 52-yard touchdown pass to P.J. Hayden.
The Bulldogs have won two straight and six of the past seven games in the series. The past two games were decided by a total of eight points.
