Faulkner leads Macon to win

Randolph-Macon quarterback Austin Faulkner completed 14 of 22 pass attempts for 208 yards including two for touchdowns to lead the Yellow Jackets past visiting Guilford (1-3 ODAC, 4-4).

Faulkner also led Macon's running game, tallying 111 yards on 12 carries and two TDs. Zak Thornton broke the 100-yard rushing mark, too, ending the day with 104 yards and one TD, helping Macon improve to 2-2 in the conference and 4-4 overall.

Guilford took their opening drive 66 yards on eight plays and scored on a Josh Vogelbach pass to Kevin Faulkner to put the Quakers ahead, 7-0.

But Randolph-Macon responded with a five play, 57-yard drive that was sealed on a one-yard quarterback keeper by Faulkner.

Guilford's Vogelbach was 39 of 64 passing for 395 yards and Kevin Vaughn hauled in 15 passes fir 221 yards and two touchdowns.

Others

  • BRIDGEWATER 32, WASHINGTON AND LEE 19: Bridgewater tallied 424 yards of offense in its most productive game of the season.

    Quarterback Hagan Driskell went 9 for 16 passing for 156 yards and a touchdown to lead the Eagles (2-2, 3-5) over the Generals (1-4, 4-4) in an ODAC matchup.

    Brandon Mitchell and T.J. Montague led the Eagles' defense with 10 tackles each.

  • CATHOLIC 38, EMORY & HENRY 23: Darren Richardson returned a Cardinal kickoff 30 yards for a touchdown but the homestanding Wasps (4-4, 2-2) could not overcome Catholic's (7-1, 3-1) powerful offense.

    Emory & Henry's Caleb Jennings had an 88-yard punt return to the Cardinals 4 yard line and followed up his effort, scoring on the next play to give his team a 7-0 lead, their only of the game. CHRISTOPHER NEWPORT 27, N.C. WESLEYAN 26: The Captains' Tunde Ogun broke his single-game rushing record, compiling 254 yards, and CNU (6-1, 5-0) dropped the hosting Bishops (4-4, 3-2).

    Jay Graham kicked a 43-yard field goal for CNU with 12:13 left in the third quarter to put his team back on top for good.

  • UNION 37, UVA-WISE 34: Kicker Jacob Appleby nailed a 21-yard field goal with 12 seconds left in the game to lead visiting Union (4-1 MSCE, 7-2) past Wise (4-1, 7-2).
  • SOUTHERN VIRGINIA 30, KENTUCKY CHRISTIAN 27: Stephen Webster kicked a 19-yard field goal in overtime to lead Southern Virginia to a win over visiting Kentucky Christian.

    Southern Virginia's Dutch Barclay rushed 17 yards on the first offensive play in overtime to the Kentucky 8-yard line. Barclay was the go-to guy on the next two plays and got his team to the one-yard line, making way for Webster's kick.

  • WEBBER INTERNATIONAL 13, APPRENTICE 10: Thomas Baertsch kicked a 26-yard field goal on fourth down in overtime to give Webber the victory over the homestanding Builders.

    For Apprentice, Kieron Paulin finished the day with 133 yards rushing and one TD, and Robert Hannah recorded 11 tackles.
