The University of Richmond's football program received its 14th commitment from the Class of 2010 yesterday. Wide receiver Marcus Snipes, of St. Frances Academy in Baltimore, was also a recruiting target of James Madison and Old Dominion.

The 6-1 180-pounder plays at a school that has sponsored a football program for only two years. St. Frances has 360 students, about 60 percent of them boys. The Spiders' basketball program earlier received a commitment from another prospect at St. Frances, 6-3 guard Wayne Sparrow.

UR football signed 14 players last February. The list of 14 commitments expected to sign this coming February includes local players DeShawn Holmes (DB, Highland Springs), DreQuan Hoskey (DB, Henrico), Jake McGee (QB, Collegiate), Rashad Winston (DT, Highland Springs), and Jerel Harrison (WR/DB, Varina). - John O'Connor
