The timeline for UR's case of NCAA violations:
2007
August: NCAA legislation prohibits communication with recruits via text messages.
November: UR assistant AD/compliance discovers irregularities during a routine review of assistant men's basketball coaches' school-issued cell phones.
December: UR self-reports secondary infractions, self-imposed penalties and other corrective actions to the NCAA enforcement staff.
2008
January: NCAA enforcement staff informs UR that the violations will be processed as major because they were knowingly and repeatedly committed.
February: NCAA requests review of all text messaging done by UR coaches on school-issued phones.
April: NCAA conducts interviews with UR staff and recruits.
July: NCAA requests phone records from men's basketball staff, discovers telephonic violations regarding contact with recruits.
September: NCAA investigation ends.
