Players to watch: UR -- TB Josh Vaughan, Sr., 232-pounder will try to wear down Grizzlies; QB Eric Ward, Jr., completed 28 of 35 for 280 yards last weekend in a 21-20 win at Northern Iowa in the FCS semifinals. UM -- RB Chase Reynolds, So., rushed for 100 or more yards in eight consecutive games; QB Cole Bergquist, Sr., three TD passes in semifinal win at James Madison.
Outlook: This is the title game of the Football Championship Subdivision, UR's first appearance in the championship game and Montana's sixth. The Grizzlies have won two titles (1995 and 2001). Montana has made the FCS playoffs 16 consecutive years. Richmond has qualified for the postseason in three of the past four years. The Spiders rank 10th in the FCS in total defense. Eleven Spiders' opponents have failed to rush for more than 100 yards, and UR will need that kind of defensive effort vs. Montana's rushing attack, which averages 184.2 yards.
