City to honor UR’s national champs

The City of Richmond will designate January 12 as “University of Richmond NCAA National Championship Day” in honor of the Spiders’ march to their first national title.

Under first-year coach Mike London, UR capped a 13-3 season on Dec. 19, 2008 with a 24-7 win over Montana in the title game of the Football Championship Subdivision.
