CHARLOTTESVILLE – University of Virginia football player Rashawn Jackson’s case has been continued to Jan. 15.

Jackson had a hearing today in Albemarle County General District Court, and his attorney requested additional time to gather more evidence.

A redshirt junior from Jersey City, N.J., Jackson was arrested late last month by U.Va. police. He was charged with grand larceny and breaking and entering – both felonies – in connection with a Nov. 22, 2007, incident at a U.Va. dormitory. He was accused of stealing a video-game console.

Jackson, the team’s No. 1 fullback, has continued to practice with and play for the Cavaliers.
