Scholar-Athlete Award

Deadline for nominations for the Scholar-Athlete Award for April is May 8. This will be the last monthly award of the year.

The award, sponsored by the Richmond Times-Dispatch and the Richmond Sports Backers, goes each month to one male and one female from high schools in the metropolitan Richmond area. Grade levels 9, 10, 11 and 12 are eligible.

Nominations must be made by the school's activities director or the athlete's coach and should be based upon the following criteria:

Specific athletic achievements in April.

3.0 GPA from the previous semester.

Current good academic standing.

Good character.
