Sport/Vitals: Sophomore, 140 What he did: Went 4-0 at the prestigious Virginia Duals tournament at the Hampton Coliseum in the American division. He had two wins wrestling up at 145 pounds and a pair of pins at 140. Age: 16 Coach's quote: "He's really, really working hard and continued to improve himself this year. . . . We've been bumping him up to basically wrestle against the opposition's toughest guy, whoever is tougher at 40 or 45, we put David against him. And he's beaten them all, so he's contributing a lot." - Frank Kiefer Last season: "I didn't do as well as I really wanted to. I think I was a lot more nervous going out for my matches, so I didn't perform. . . . This year, I'm doing better at just getting rid of those nerves." Three words to describe himself: Determined, quiet, loyal. One thing most people don't know: He commutes 50 minutes to school from the family farm in Louisa. "We've got cows and horses, that's it." Strengths: "On offense, I think I catch my opponents off guard. . . . And top, I guess, top work." I'm working on: "Definitely bottom, trying to get out." Biggest craving: "Probably breakfast foods, like french toast, biscuits and gravy." Best sports memory: Winning the Richmond Invitational Tournament. "I felt pretty good after that." Best Richmond-area rivalry: Matt Hatcher, Mills Godwin On the iPod: "Pretty much everything. Country, rap, rock." Person he admires: "It's close between my dad and my grandpa. My grandpa wrestled at Virginia Tech, he was hall of fame. My dad just taught me how to work hard, but he never wrestled." - Andee Sears
