Third-seeded Cosby jumped to a 9-0 lead and never trailed in ousting No. 6 Monacan in the quarterfinals of the Dominion District tournament at Cosby.

Matt Gorski led the Titans with 17 points, 8 rebounds and 3 blocked shots, while David Robinson added 16 points and Patrick McDaniel had 10. The Chiefs got as close as four in the fourth quarter but Cosby hit 8 of 10 free throws to ice it.

Bradley Riester had 16 points (12 on 3-pointers) for Monacan while Cedrick Erving scored all 15 of his points in the second half.
