Boys: Essex 60, Northumberland 50

Essex defeated Northumberland in the Northern Neck District semifinals, led by 16 points from John Dille.

Dille also had seven rebounds and five blocks. Teammate Reggie Johnson was just shy of a double-double with 10 points and nine rebounds. Northumberland was led by Malik Shabazz's 15 points.

In the other semifinal, No. 4 seed Washington and Lee defeated Lancaster 60-58. Essex plays Washington and Lee Friday at 7:30 p.m. at Northumberland.
