Field hockey: Warrens spark Manchester past Monacan
The Warren duo of Caitlyn and Courtlyn helped pace Manchester to a 4-2 win over Monacan in the opening round of the Dominion District girls field hockey tournament yesterday.
Caitlyn's first goal came in the first half for the fifth-seeded Lancers, and Courtlyn and Samantha White added scores to Warren's in the second. Goalkeeper Alexis Meyers had five saves for the Lancers.
Emily Warrick and Lindsay Keys scored for the Chiefs, and goalkeeper Catie Mavailia made 10 saves.
Clover Hill 1, Midlothian 0 (OT)
Katherine Peachee's scored the game's only goal in overtime, sending third-seeded Clover Hill past Midlothian. Cavaliers goalkeepr Savannah Nelson finished with 14 saves.

Audrey Hester scored two goals to lift No. 4 Deep Run over fifth-seeded Patrick Henry in the quarterfinal round. Michelle Rawlyk, Ashley Cureton and Katie Markee also found the net. Rebecca Oliver needed to make just one save for the Wildcats.

Hayley Stough scored twice, and No. 3 Mills Godwin eased past No. 6 J.R. Tucker with help of a three-goal second half.
Caitlyn Walton and Kelsey Phillips added goals for the Eagles. Katherne Savage scored, and Erin Waldron stopped 10 shots for the Tigers. Erin Bailey made six saves for the Eagles.
