Football: Hanover 24, Deep Run 7

Deane Cheatham put the Hawks ahead for good with a touchdown run and Sam Rogers had a scoring pass and a scoring run to seal the win over the Wildcats.

Kenny Williams (13 for 125, 144 yards, 1 int.) hit Mike Wood with a 28-yard pass to give Deep Run (1-2) a 7-0 lead. After a field goal Cheatham (17 carries, 129 yards) scored from 5 yards to put Hanover (2-1) up 10-7.

Rogers took over in the fourth quarter with two scores and he finished with 186 yards (99 rushing, 87 passing) of total offense.
