Football: Hopewell 13, Brunswick 12

Chase Doval caught a 24-yard touchdowns pass from Jalen Reeves early in the fourth quarter and the Blue Devils defense stood up twice late in the game to give them the win over the Bulldogs.

Jalen Reeves (7 for 16, 147 yards, 2 TDs, 1 int.) hit Doval with a 19-yard touchdown pass in the first quarter. The Bulldogs (0-3) responded with a 64-yard touchdown run in the second quarter.

After the Blue Devils (1-2) extended the lead early in the fourth quarter Green found Devon Dugger for a 21-yard score with 3:14 remaning. Brunswick went for two and Hopewell stopped Torain Edmonds at the 1 to preserve the lead.

The Bulldogs got it back one more time, but the Blue Devils held them again at their own 40-yard line in the final minute.
