Jamar Tunstal stepped in for an injured Josiah Shelton and threw a touchdown pass to Lasuane Vaughn with 45 seconds left to give the Justices a Colonial District win over the Patriots.

Josiah Shelton was hurt after throwing for 186 yards and a touchdown and rushing for 101 yards and a touchdown. His 60-yard strike to C.J. Shelton gave John Marshall (1-1, 3-2) a 14-3 lead.

The Patriots (1-1, 1-4) stormed back with touchdown runs from Brian Houchens and Brandon Wong and a Devonte Derricott's 41-yard fumble return that gave them a 24-14 lead midway through the fourth quarter.

Josiah Shleton scored from 1-yard out to cut the lead to 24-20 with 2:30 to go. Then the John Marshall defense led by T.J. Thompson (11 tackles, fumble recovery), Ramon Bragg (7 tackles, 3 sacks) and Maurice Conyers (6 tackles, 3 sacks) stopped Patrick Henry to force a punt.

After an injury to Josiah Shelton and a penalty, Tunstal found Vaughn for the winning score.
