Football: J.R. Tucker 30, John Marshall

Jacob Bennett ran for a touchdown and Adam Stein recovered Cody Chapel's blocked punt in the end zone in the first quarter to set the Tigers on their way to a Colonial District win over the Justices yesterday.

Jacob Bennett finished 67 yards and two touchdowns on 19 carries. Josiah Shelton (216 all purpose yards) tossed a 3-yard touchdown pass to Leshaune Vaughn to get John Marshall (1-2, 3-4) within 14-7.

The Tigers defense and special teams took over from there. J.R. Tucker (2-1, 5-2) blocked two punts and recovered six fumbles that led to 16 points. Robert Cheeseman led the effort with 15 tackles, two forced fumbles and a fumble recovery. In addition to running for 108 yards, Montre Carr forced a fumble and recovered a fumble.
