Football: No. 1 Meadowbrook 54, Hopewell 14

Domico Phillips rushed for 109 yards and three touchdowns and quarterback Andre Coble rushed for two scores and threw for another to lead the top-ranked Monarchs to a Central District win over the Blue Devils.

Meadowbrook (1-0 Central District, 4-0) outscored Hopewell 34-0 in the second quarter and led 48-7 at halftime.

Ed Rhodes led the Monarchs' rushing attack with 158 yards and a score on 18 carries. Coble rushed for 104 yards on just eight attempts.

Devante Ennis scored on a 60-yard run and Jalen Reeves had a 1-yard TD run for Hopewell (0-1, 1-3).
