Varina-Highland Springs tickets on sale Monday

Tickets for next Thursday's 7 p.m. football game between Varina and Highland Springs will be on sale Monday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the main office at both schools.

Tickets for the game, which will be played at Highland Springs, cost $7. If the sellout number of 5,000 is reached before game time, there will be no tickets available at the game.

The winner will enter the playoffs as the Capital District champion while the loser will be eliminated from the postseason.

Alumni and friends of the eastern Henrico Schools will gather Sunday at Highland Springs for the inaugural Highland Springs/Varina Community Sportsmanship program.

The feature attraction is a flag football game between alumni of the schools. Game time is 2 p.m. Tickets are $5 for adults, $1 for children. Admission is free for youth league football players and cheerleaders wearing their uniforms. Each school's marching band will perform.
