Boys athlete of week
Evan Charles
Deep Run tennis
What he did: The Wildcats' No.2 player, Charles lost the first set to Mills Godwin's Kevin McMillen but bounced back to win the next two to give Deep Run a vital point in its 5-4 victory over the Eagles. It was the first time Deep Run has defeated Mills Godwin, which hadn't lost to a Central Region team since April, 2005. Charles, a sophomore, also won a match against Atlee and is unbeaten in singles this season.
