Boys volleyball: James River 3, L.C. Bird 0
Maddie New made 31 assists to help third-seeded James River defeat No. 6 L.C. Bird 3-0 in the quarterfinals. Drew McLean added eight kills, three digs, a block and an assist for the Rapids. Andy Putnam totaled 16 digs for the Skyhawks, and Matt Bienvenu contributed fout blocks, 12 assists and three digs.
