It was the Yankees' fifth straight win over the Blue Jays. RED SOX 8, MARINERS 4: David Ortiz had a tying RBI single, and Mark Kotsay added a key two-run hit during a five-run seventh inning as Boston defeated Seattle. Dustin Pedroia homered among his three hits for the Red Sox, and Ortiz and Jacoby Ellsbury also hit solo homers ROYALS 6, WHITE SOX 3: Alberto Callaspo collected his fourth RBI in two days, and Miguel Olivo hit a two-run homer to help Kansas City earn a split of its four-game series with Chicago. Brian Bannister held the White Sox to five hits and two runs through six innings. TWINS 6, TIGERS 2: Justin Morneau punctuated a productive series with a two-run homer to lead Minnesota over Detroit. Nick Blackburn took a shutout into the ninth inning before left fielder Denard Span dropped a line drive and Brandon Inge (VCU) followed with a two-run homer. ATHLETICS 5, INDIANS 2: Gio Gonzalez pitched six strong innings for his first win of the season and Oakland beat Cleveland. Gonzalez allowed two runs, six hits, and struck out a career-high eight for his second career win and first since Aug. 12. ANGELS 9, ORIOLES 6: Vladimir Guerrero hit a tying two-run homer in his first game back in right field, and Los Angeles took advantage of a wild Baltimore bullpen to rally for a win. PHILLIES 2, METS 0: Joe Blanton pitched four-hit ball into the eighth inning, and Jimmy Rollins and Chase Utley each homered off Johan Santana to help Philadelphia sweep New York. The Phillies had lost 12 of 15 and returned home after being swept by the Atlanta Braves. NATIONALS 5, BRAVES 3: Scott Olsen pitched into the ninth inning, newly acquired Nyjer Morgan had three hits and Washington beat Atlanta for its second straight victory. Olsen allowed three runs and eight hits over 82/3 innings. He walked five and struck out five. CARDINALS 10, REDS 1: Colby Rasmus' homer started an eight-run onslaught against slumping right-hander Bronson Arroyo in St. Louis' rout of Cincinnati. Rasmus hit a two-run homer in the first off Arroyo, who is 1-5 in his past seven starts. MARLINS 5, PIRATES 0: Ricky Nolasco struck out 12 in eight innings to win his fourth consecutive start as Florida beat Pittsburgh. He allowed three hits and missed his career high for strikouts by one. Leo Nunez worked a scoreless ninth for the Marlins' second shutout of the season. CUBS 8, BREWERS 2: Ted Lilly pitched effectively into the seventh inning, and Derrek Lee hit a two-run homer in Chicago's win over Milwaukee. Jake Fox also had a two-run home run for the Cubs, who took three of four from the Brewers. ASTROS 7, GIANTS 1: Roy Oswalt pitched eight strong innings in Houston's victory over San Francisco. Miguel Tejada, Hunter Pence and Jason Michaels hit solo home runs for the Astros. Jeff Keppinger had three hits and drove in a run. DIAMONDBACKS 4, ROCKIES 3: Mark Reynolds (U.Va.) hit a three-run homer, and Felipe Lopez broke a tie game with an RBI single in the seventh to lift Arizona over Colorado. Dan Haren allowed three runs - one earned - before being taken out in the seventh for a pinch hitter. DODGERS 7, PADRES 6 (13): James Loney led off the 13th inning with a homer to give Los Angeles a win over San Diego. Loney hit his sixth homer of the season into the right-field seats off Edward Mujica to help the Dodgers win after squandering a 6-0 lead. - From Wire Reports
