SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico -- The first shot of Isaiah Armwood's college basketball career was a big one.

The freshman hit a go-ahead 3-pointer with 17 seconds left, rallying fifth-ranked Villanova over George Mason 69-68 Thursday in the O'Reilly Auto Parts Puerto Rico Tip-Off.

The Wildcats (3-0) trailed by 13 points in the first half and was led in scoring by Scottie Reynolds' 18 points.

Ryan Pearson led the Patriots (2-1) with 14 and Cam Long added 13.

In other games

MONARCHS 73, FLAMES 41: Old Dominion shot 51 percent from the field and outscored host Liberty 35-14 in the first half in the route to remain unbeaten for the season.

Keyon Carter led the Monarchs (3-0) with 17 points. Marsharee Neely followed him with 11.

The Flames (1-3) was led by Kyle Ohman's 17 points, the only player to finish the night in double figures.
