RED SOX 3, ORIOLES 1: Clay Buchholz pitched six innings of five-hit ball, and Boston beat Baltimore to extend its winning streak against the Orioles to six games. Jason Bay hit his team-high 34th home run for the Red Sox, who have won eight of nine. NATIONAL LEAGUE ROUNDUP
MARLINS 4, REDS 3: John Baker's RBI single highlighted Florida's four-run rally in the ninth, and the Marlins snapped their nine-game losing streak in Cincinnati. Brendan Donnelly got the win despite giving up Joey Votto's RBI single in the eighth. NATIONALS 6, METS 5: Ryan Zimmerman hit his 30th homer, Josh Bard drove in three runs and Washington held off New York. Zimmerman and Bard each hit a two-run shot off Mike Pelfrey, who hadn't allowed a home run at spacious Citi Field since June 10. PIRATES 5, PADRES 1: Charlie Morton allowed one run in seven innings, helping Pittsburgh win for only the third time in its past 20 games. Morton allowed only six hits and a walk to win for only the second time since July 18. Lastings Milledge went 2 for 3 with an RBI. - From Wire Reports
