CHICAGO - Kurt Warner tied a career high by throwing five touchdown passes to lead the Arizona Cardinals to an easy 41-21 win over the Chicago Bears yesterday.

Warner (23 of 32, 261 yards) was at his best one week after throwing five interceptions in a 34-21 home loss to Carolina. He handled a team that had a chance to sign him as a backup four years ago, matching the record for TD passes by a Bears opponent without getting picked off.

Two of Warner's TD strikes went to receiver Larry Fitzgerald, who finished with 123 yards. Warner threw touchdown passes on the first four possessions, and Neil Rackers added field goals on the next two.

The Bears wasted a good effort by Jay Cutler, who threw for 369 yards and three touchdowns - all to tight end Greg Olsen - while completing 29 of 47 passes. He was sacked four times for the second straight week.

Patriots defeat Dolphins 27-17

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - Tom Brady and Randy Moss connected on two highlight-reel plays, and the New England Patriots overcame the Miami Dolphins' revived wildcat offense for a 27-17 win. Moss set up the Patriots' first touchdown with a one-handed, 36-yard grab at the Dolphins 1-yard line, then scored on a 71-yard play after catching the ball about 10 yards beyond the line of scrimmage. Miami's two touchdowns came on possessions on which it used the wildcat most extensively - after gaining just 36 yards on 21 wildcat plays in its previous two games.

TITANS 34, 49ERS 27: Six plays after his 81-yard touchdown run was overturned, Chris Johnson took a pitch from Vince Young and ran 2 yards for a go-ahead score and led Tennessee over San Francisco for its second straight win. Young showed his comeback is legitimate, outplaying fellow first-round draft pick Alex Smith down the stretch. Johnson converted on fourth and inches for his TD, making up for those six points that were negated only a few minutes earlier after it was determined he stepped out of bounds.

JAGUARS 24, CHIEFS 21: David Garrard threw for 264 yards, including a 61-yard touchdown to Mike Sims-Walker, and Rashad Jennings (Liberty) ran 28 yards for his first TD as a pro in Jacksonville's win. Maurice Jones-Drew had 97 yards rushing and a touchdown. Sims-Walker caught six passes for 147 yards. Kansas City quarterback Matt Cassel threw for 262 yards and two scores - both to newcomer Chris Chambers.

SEAHAWKS 32, LIONS 20: Matt Hasselbeck rallied the Seattle from a 17-0 deficit with a franchise-record 39 completions in a win over Detroit. Hasselbeck (39 of 51, 329 yards) threw an interception on his first play but finished with the first 300-yard passing game in two seasons for the Seahawks. Josh Wilson returned an interception 61 yards for a touchdown with 22 seconds left, the last of five picks by Lions rookie quarterback Matthew Stafford.

INJURIES

Bengals' Henry suffers broken arm

CINCINNATI - Bengals receiver Chris Henry broke his left forearm when he was tackled after a catch, putting the rest of his season in doubt. Henry caught a 10-yard pass and was tackled by Ravens cornerback Fabian Washington, who landed on him as they hit the ground. Henry was one of the Bengals' best deep threats but was only sixth on the team in receiving.

Redskins' Portis has head injury

ATLANTA - Washington running back Clinton Portis left the game with 3:20 remaining in the first quarter after a helmet-to-helmet hit from Falcons safety Thomas DeCoud. Redskins coach Jim Zorn said Portis was knocked out on the field. He said the team would approach the injury with caution, but he said it was too early to speculate about Portis' status.

  • Detroit linebacker Ernie Sims (hamstring) left in the third quarte after trying to track down Seattle Seahawks running back Julius Jones (Big Stone Gap). Sims appeared to injure his right leg, although the Lions didn't specify which leg.

  • Carolina linebacker Thomas Davis was helped off the field in the fourth quarter at New Orleans on Sunday. Trainers appeared to look at Davis' right knee. There was no immediate word on his condition.

QUICK KICKS

WR Chris Chambers, claimed off waivers Tuesday from San Diego, caught two touchdown passes, both coming in the last 2:32.
