Two-minute drill: Sunday’s games

CINCINNATI - Carson Palmer threw five touchdown passes - four of them in a dominant first half - and Cedric Benson ran for a career-high 189 yards and a touchdown against the team that let him go, shocking Chicago with a 45-10 victory Sunday that will go down as one of the worst days in Bears history.

The Bengals improved to 5-2 for the first time since 2005, when a fast-strike offense got them to the playoffs. There was a strong resemblance in the first half, when Cincinnati scored on all five possessions and went up 31-0. It tied for the third-most points the Bears (3-3) have allowed in an opening half.

In that half alone, Chad Ochocinco had 103 yards receiving and Benson had 98 yards rushing as the Bears gave up more points than they had in any game all season. Palmer finished 20 of 24 for 233 yards, one shy of his career high for touchdown throws.

The Bengals had been an all-or-nothing offense, scoring nearly half their points in the final two minutes of halves and overtime. This time, it got going right away and didn't let up.

Bills outplayed, but win 20-9

CHARLOTTE, N.C.- Jairus Byrd bagged two more interceptions, Ryan Fitzpatrick didn't make a big mistake in his first start at quarterback and the Buffalo Bills took advantage of Carolina's miscues to beat the Panthers 20-9.

Buffalo won despite being outgained 425-167. Carolina led in first downs 20-9 and held the ball for nearly 35 minutes. But Jake Delhomme was intercepted three times, Kenny Moore fumbled a punt and John Kasay missed two field goal tries.

Byrd, a rookie, had two interceptions to set up touchdowns as Buffalo (3-3) won road games in consecutive weeks for the first time since 2004.

CHARGERS 37, CHIEFS 7: Philip Rivers threw three touchdowns passes, and LaDainian Tomlinson rushed for a season-high 71 yards to help San Diego win its third in a row at Kansas City for the first time since 1981. Chargers receiver Vincent Jackson totaled 142 yards and a touchdown on just five catches. Chiefs quarterback Matt Cassel was 10 of 25 for 97 yards, along with three interceptions.

PATRIOTS 35, BUCCANEERS 7: Tom Brady threw three touchdown passes and rang up more than 300 yards as New England breezed to a win in London. Brady finished 23 of 32 for 308 yards and was replaced late in the game by Brian Hoyer. Antonio Bryant caught a touchdown pass for Tampa Bay, which fell to 0-7 and saw its losing streak extended to 11 overall.

PACKERS 31, BROWNS 3: Aaron Rodgers threw three touchdown passes, Ryan Grant rushed for 148 yards and Green Bay routed Cleveland on the road as a warm-up for Brett Favre's first visit back to Lambeau Field next week The Browns have scored just four offensive touchdowns and 72 points all season.

COLTS 42, RAMS 6: Peyton Manning was 23 for 34 for 235 yards and three touchdown passes, and the defense recorded its first score of the year on rookie Jacob Lacey's 35-yard interception return in a rout of St. Louis.The Colts won their 15th straight regular-season game and set a franchise record with their eighth straight road victory.

JETS 38, RAIDERS 0: Mark Sanchez ran for one touchdown and threw for another, fellow rookie Shonn Greene ran for 144 yards and two scores and the New York Jets routed Oakland to snap a three-game losing streak. This was just the fifth home shutout ever for the Raiders, with four coming in the past four seasons.

Jets' Washington suffers broken leg

OAKLAND, Calif. - New York Jets running back Leon Washington broke his right leg in the first quarter against the Oakland Raiders on Sunday and underwent surgery after the game. Washington went down on his only carry of the day when a defender rolled up on his right leg after a 6-yard run. Teammates said the bone broke through the skin, and it was visible on the field. He was diagnosed with a broken right fibula. The team said he would be out indefinitely.

Colts' Wayne, Brown hurting

ST. LOUIS - The Indianapolis Colts lost receiver Reggie Wayne (groin) for a quarter and rookie running back Donald Brown (shoulder) for most of the last three quarters. Wayne had seven catches for 83 yards with a 6-yard TD reception on the opening drive but seemed to lack burst after returning and had one catch for 7 yards the rest of the way.

Sore chest sidelines Texans' Johnson

HOUSTON - Houston Texans receiver Andre Johnson injured his chest against the 49ers. Johnson was shaken up on a play in the fourth quarter against San Francisco and remained on the field on his hands and knees for a few minutes before walking to the sideline.

• Green Bay Packers TE Jermichael Finley suffered a knee injury after a 16-yard catch in the first quarter and did not return.

• Buffalo Bills DT Kyle Williams suffered a knee injury in the first quarter at Carolina and didn't return to the game. Williams was questionable going in with a sore shoulder but was active and started.

QUICK KICKS

• The Buccaneers' 11-game losing streak is their longest since 1976-77 when they endured an NFL-record 0-26 skid.

• The Packers' offensive line did not give up a sack to the Browns after allowing a league-high 25 coming in.
