SAN DIEGO - LaDainian Tomlinson is one of three San Diego Chargers who have been ruled out of tomorrow's home opener against the Baltimore Ravens.
The star running back, who sprained his right ankle in Monday night's 24-20 win at Oakland, will miss just the second game of his brilliant career because of injury. The first was in January when a groin injury kept him out of San Diego's playoff loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Also out are center Nick Hardwick (ankle) and defensive end Travis Johnson (groin).
Eagles' McNabb doubtful
PHILADELPHIA - Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb is doubtful for tomorrow's game against the New Orleans Saints after sitting out practice for the third straight day.
Kevin Kolb took all the snaps with the first team in practice and appears in line to start his first game. Jeff Garcia would be the No. 3 emergency QB if McNabb could somehow play. Michael Vick (suspended) is not eligible until Week 3 against Kansas City.
STEELERS: Starting linebacker Lawrence Timmons (high ankle sprain) is expected to play at Chicago, although it is uncertain whether he will start. WR Limas Sweed won't play because of a sprained foot he suffered Wednesday during practice.
BILLS: Starting CB Terrence McGee (back spasms) is questionable for tomorrow's home opener against Tampa Bay after missing practice. If McGee can't play tomorrow, Ashton Youboty likely would take his place.
SEAHAWKS: LT Walter Jones could play tomorrow at San Francisco, one month to the day after knee surgery. Seattle's nine-time Pro Bowler had his most extensive practice yesterday since his second knee surgery in eight months. The 35-year-old did some team drills and is listed as questionable.
PANTHERS: Starting SS Chris Harris (knee) is doubtful for tomorrow's game at Atlanta. Quinton Teal is expected to start. Starting right tackle Jeff Otah (left shoulder) practiced yesterday and is listed as probable.
VIKINGS: Special teams standout Heath Farwell (hamstring) is questionable for tomorrow's game against the Detroit Lions. He missed all of last season with a knee injury, one of the main reasons Minnesota struggled on special teams.
49ERS: WR Brandon Jones is unlikely to play tomorrow against the Seattle Seahawks after returning to practice this week from a shoulder injury. Jones was listed as doubtful on the injury report, with coach Mike Singletary saying Jones is yet to be in game shape.
