Polamalu on track to play

PITTSBURGH -- Steelers safety Troy Polamalu returned to practice after sitting out two days to rest his still-healing left knee.

Polamalu practiced yesterday with the Steelers' starters and is planning to play tomorrow against the unbeaten Minnesota Vikings. He did not practice Wednesday or Thursday.

The five-time Pro Bowl safety tore the medial collateral ligament in his left knee Sept. 10 against Tennessee. He returned Sunday to make an interception against Cleveland.

Vikings' Winfield likely won't play

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. -- Minnesota Pro Bowl cornerback Antoine Winfield is listed as doubtful for the Vikings' game at Pittsburgh.

That means it is highly unlikely the Pro Bowler will be on the field when the undefeated Vikings face the Steelers' second-ranked passing offense.

Winfield did not practice all week, putting Benny Sapp in line for the start. Kick returner/wide receiver Percy Harvin (Virginia Beach) is listed as questionable with a shoulder injury.

Wright flips car, goes to practice

CLEVELAND -- Browns cornerback Eric Wright was back at practice hours after flipping his car on a wet highway entrance ramp. He was listed on the team's injury report (shoulder) and may play tomorrow against Green Bay. Wright rolled his car early yesterday when his vehicle slid on wet pavement. He was examined at a Cleveland hospital and released. The Browns sent him for more tests and Wright was back at the team's training facility in Berea, Ohio, in time for practice.

Cardinals' Boldin questionable

TEMPE, Ariz. -- Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Anquan Boldin is questionable for tomorrow night at the New York Giants after going through a limited practice. It was the first time all week that Boldin had participated in practice after spraining his right ankle in last Sunday's 27-3 victory in Seattle, although he had done some rehabilitation work on the side.

Jets' Cotchery sidelined again

FLORHAM PARK, N.J. -- New York Jets wide receiver Jerricho Cotchery will not play against the Oakland Raiders tomorrow, missing his second straight game with an injured left hamstring. Coach Rex Ryan said that wide receiver Brad Smith and cornerback Lito Sheppard, both nursing quadriceps injuries, also won't play. Cotchery was hurt in practice two weeks ago but played in the loss at Miami on Oct. 12. He then sat out Sunday against Buffalo.

Bills' Edwards ruled out

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. -- Bills starting quarterback Trent Edwards won't play in Buffalo's game at Carolina tomorrow because of a concussion. Ryan Fitzpatrick will get the start for Edwards. Starting safeties Donte Whitner (ankle) and Bryan Scott (ankle), and starting right tackle Jonathan Scott (ankle) are out as well.

Bears' Harris battling knee injury

CHICAGO -- Chicago Bears defensive tackle Tommie Harris was listed as doubtful for tomorrow's game against the Cincinnati Bengals because of a nagging left knee injury. Although he has started all five games this season, the three-time Pro Bowler has been hampered by knee and hamstring problems the past three years. The Bears have limited his participation in practice during that time, and he did not participate this week.
