NORFOLK — Suspended NFL Star Michael Vick is leaving a job with a Virginia construction company to work with youngsters at Boys & Girls Clubs.
Steven Kast, CEO of the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Virginia Peninsula, says Vick will be working with children on health and fitness activities at several clubs in the Hampton Roads area. Vick was a regular at the Boys & Girls Club in Newport News as a youngster.
Vick needed a job to meet the conditions of his probation and had been working as a $10-an-hour laborer.
Vick, whose lawyers were in U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Norfolk on Tuesday, is in house arrest for the last two months of a nearly two-year sentence for operating a dogfighting ring.
His lawyers say a new bankruptcy plan gives creditors more of his future earnings.

obxgirl i would doubt Mike would want to be around those brats of yours .
Who but Michael to help continue the thug tradition of the 757. Coach Beamer, keep the line item for the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office in the Virginia Tech Athletic Department budget open.
Who better to show he kids the pitfalls of stardom than Michael Vick? I applaud the boys and girls club for giving Vick a chance when others want to continuously deny him that right. If anyone thinks working with children isnt a real job, then they are out of touch with the realities of todays children.
what a loser! he couldn’t even last 2 weeks working a real job. And I wouldn’t let that worthless piece of garbage near my children.
Great - what a role model for the kids in an impoverished area. The Boys & Girls Clubs are using VICK to bring health and fitness to their most at-risk youths.
Guess actually working for a living (construction) was too much for poor ‘ol Michael eh?
