Renegades rally, storm past Cyclones 6-3

Joe Curry highlighted a five-goal barrage in the third period by scoring twice in his first game as a Renegade, and Richmond stormed to a 6-3 win over the Twin City Cyclones in Winston-Salem, N.C., last night.

The Renegades (28-23-2), who snapped a two-game losing streak, moved into a tie with Huntsville for second place in the congested Southern Professional Hockey League standings with 58 points. The Gades, however, have two more wins.

Beau McLaughlin scored his team-high 27th goal and added an assist in the outburst, and Trevor Karasiewicz collected a pair of assists.

With the score 3-3, the Renegades put the game away when Jason Price and McLaughlin connected 2:35 apart midway through the third period. Curry, who put the Gades up 3-2 at 5:51, sealed the win by scoring into an empty net 11 seconds from the finish.
