Justin Joy and Beau McLaughlin scored 2:25 apart early in the first period, and the Richmond made the goals stand up in a 2-1 victory over the Columbus Cottonmouths in Columbus, Ga.
The victory was the Renegades' seventh in their past 10 games.
Joy connected unassisted at 2:53, and McLaughlin made it 2-0 at 5:18 with Richmond skating a man down. Ryan Scott turned aside 34 of 35 shots, allowing just Craig Stahl's power-play goal at 17:32 of the opening period.
The teams meet again tonight at 7:35.
