LOS ANGELES - Derek Armstrong scored the go-ahead goal in the third period to end a 29-game drought, Alexander Frolov had a goal and an assist in his 400th NHL game, and the Los Angeles Kings beat the Chicago Blackhawks 5-2 yesterday.
Jarret Stoll and Patrick O'Sullivan had a goal and an assist each, Kyle Calder ended a 12-game goal-less streak during a power play, and Kyle Quincey set up Los Angeles' last two goals. Michal Handzus had two assists and Erik Ersberg made 22 saves.
Patrick Sharp and Patrick Kane each had a goal and an assist for Chicago. Cristobal Huet, making his eighth start and third straight while Nikolai Khabibulin recovers from an undisclosed lower-body injury, stopped 23 shots.

CAPITALS 3, CANADIENS 0: Jose Theodore made 28 saves for his first shutout with Washington, and Alex Ovechkin, Tomas Fleischmann and David Steckel scored in a win over Montreal. The win was the Capitals' seventh straight at home - their longest streak since also winning seven in a row from Nov. 17-Dec. 16, 2000.
SABRES 4, PENGUINS 3: Paul Gaustad broke a tie with his second goal, and Drew Stafford had two goals and an assist in Buffalo's home win. Sidney Crosby scored two goals for Pittsburgh.
SHARKS 6, STARS 2: Dan Boyle scored two goals, Evgeni Nabokov made 25 saves and the NHL-leading San Jose won at Dallas. The Sharks (19-3-1) added to their best start in franchise history by winning for the sixth time in a row.
RED WINGS 5, BLUE JACKETS 3: Marian Hossa's second goal of the game with 2 minutes left lifted host Detroit over Columbus. Henrik Zetterberg had a goal and assist for the Red Wings. Fedor Tyutin scored twice for the Blue Jackets.
RANGERS 4, PANTHERS 3: Markus Naslund and Nikolai Zherdev scored in a shootout to give New York a win at Florida. Henrik Lundqvist (38 saves in regulation) improved to 5-1 in shootouts this season..
PREDATORS 4, THRASHERS 3: Ryan Suter beat Johan Hedberg on a breakaway 1:44 into overtime to give Nashville a road win over Atlanta. Dan Hamhuis and Scott Nichol each had a goal and an assist for the Predators.
