Choosing quantity and quality, the local bowling associations' halls of fame will induct a class of 10 on March 7.

The Greater Richmond Bowling Association will honor league veterans Jim Franks and James Grady Sr. for achievement and association attorney Clinton Corry Jr. for service.

During his 20 years in the GRBA, Franks has amassed 28 perfect games, four 800 sets and a top average of 231. He won the 2007 800 Club title and a city championship in 2008.

Also a city tournament champ, Grady, a GRBA member for 48 years, has rolled more than 50 700 sets and two perfect games and has a top average of 215.

Corry has been the GRBA's lawyer for 23 years and president of the Richmond Independent League for 10 years.

The Greater Richmond Women's Bowling Association will recognize the service of longtime board members Jean Gilbert and Vikki King and experienced league secretaries Peggie Cline and Elaine Murdock.

Gilbert, who started the Summer Strikers in 1994 and has been secretary of the Major Strikers since 1984, has served on the GRWBA board for 13 years. A member of the state and city associations for 14 years, King has been on the local board for five years. Cline has served as secretary of the Wednesday Early Birds League since 1986, and Murdock has filled the same role in three leagues.

The Greater Richmond Youth Association will induct two of its most consistent performers, Roy Becker and Jessica Overton, for achievement and Saint Paul's bowling coach James Washington for service.

Becker, now 23, was in the city youth program for 12 years, during which he rolled three perfect games, a top series of 279 and a top average of 195. Overton, 18, is carrying a 200 average. Her top game is 279 and best series is 692.

In addition to his college coaching and work as a center manager, Washington serves on the state youth board and has been involved with the Junior Gold program, Special Olympics and local tournaments.

The GRBA and GRWA inductions will take place at the Crown Plaza (6531 West Broad St.) with a dinner at 7 p.m., the ceremony at 8:45 and dance at 9. Tickets priced at $30 are available from board members.

The youth association inductions will occur at Bowl America-Southwest at 1 p.m.
