WHAT: USL-2 professional soccer match WHEN/WHERE: Today at 7 p.m., UMBC Stadium NOTABLE: Kickers fans seemed in a celebratory mood after last weekend's 7-2 blowout of Bermuda lifted the local club into a tie for first place in the USL-2 standings. But now begins the make-or-break portion of the schedule. The Kickers (7-2-5) play four of their next five USL-2 matches on the road. Each of those four road matches will be played on the turf of a playoff-caliber opponent. Tonight's foe, Crystal Palace Baltimore, is tied for fourth place with 21 points and a 6-7-3 record. . . . Crystal Palace, which earned a 1-1 tie when it visited Richmond in May, stung league-leader Harrisburg 2-0 last Friday. That result knocked Harrisburg out of sole possession of first place. . . . Midfielders Val Teixiera (five goals) and Dan Lader (three) are Crystal Palace's top scoring threats. . . . Richmond forwards David Bulow and Matthew Delicate are tied for the league lead with nine goals apiece. . . . Central defender Yomby William is expected to return to the Kickers' lineup after serving a red-card suspension against Bermuda. . . .
