CARY, N.C. -- The Richmond Kickers of the United Soccer Leagues Second Division fell to USL-1 opponent Carolina 2-1 last night in the opening round of the U.S. Open Cup at WakeMed Soccer Park.
David Bulow scored for Richmond, which was making its 11th appearance in the Open Cup, a 40-team event that spans all levels of adult soccer, from MLS to amateur.
The RailHawks' Daniel Paladini opened the scoring in the 14th minute with an assist from Hamed Diallo, who netted the game-winner just after halftime.
